UNC-SPE-038
The Abyssal Vent Deposit is a dense mineral formation recovered from geothermal vent structures located within submerged caverns beneath the western foundations. The specimen combines crystalline growths metallic inclusions biological residue and unknown organic filaments into a single integrated mass. Thermal imaging demonstrates persistent internal heat despite long-term removal from the vent environment. Lantern Eel populations are frequently observed congregating around similar deposits in situ and several vent systems appear to support extensive ecosystems dependent upon them. Chemical composition remains only partially understood due to the unusual interaction between biological and geological components. Sections of the deposit display slow growth under controlled observation conditions despite apparent separation from the original environment. The specimen remains under active study due to its potential connection to deeper maritime systems and undocumented ecological processes beneath the archive.
