UNC-SPE-384
The Below-Bloom Flower is an unidentified botanical specimen known primarily through repeated illustrations preserved within historical conservatory journals. Surviving records depict a dark-petaled flower with a long narrow stem frequently accompanied by spiral markings and notes concerning its appearance in locations below the Archive. Multiple sketches appear throughout botanical journals with increasing repetition and urgency suggesting concern regarding memory retention or accurate documentation. The only surviving written description repeatedly associated with the plant states it only blooms below. Recent observations documented the unexplained appearance of dried black petals within the study despite no confirmed specimen being present within the Archive's catalogued botanical collections. No verified living example has been recovered and the species remains unidentified. Current records consist of preserved sketches journal references and recovered plant fragments.
