MYT-OBJ-044

A carved stone funerary disc recovered from a peat-preserved burial site and believed to have been used during eclipse ceremonies funerary observances and seasonal transitional rites. The artifact consists of a central circular disc surrounded by an elaborately carved outer frame displaying mathematically precise concentric engravings spiral intervals and eclipse symbolism. Excavation records document placement directly above the chest cavity of a preserved burial accompanied by ash deposits ritual torch fragments and ceremonial wrappings. Recent conservation work revealed additional carving layers concealed beneath long-standing mineral staining. These hidden engravings include eclipse-oriented observational imagery and concentric solar forms not visible during ordinary examination. Under specific lighting conditions the polished surface produces moving circular reflections that appear to track alignment patterns across surrounding surfaces. Additional engraving layers continue to emerge intermittently during angled light exposure suggesting the visible carvings represent only part of the complete design.

DETAILS
Handling and Restrictions:

Store flat. Restrict prolonged angled-light examination and projection studies. Document all newly revealed carving layers before further cleaning.

Condition:

Excellent preservation with minimal environmental wear.

Notable Characteristics

Concentric eclipse carvings. Hidden engraving layers. Rotational reflected light patterns. Persistent shadow-ring projection effects during specific lighting conditions.

Clio Observation

Closely observes moving reflected light patterns and remains attentive during active projection events.

Muninn Observation

Collects and arranges circular objects around the artifact during examination periods and follows reflected light movement across surrounding surfaces.

Research Notes:

Recent observations indicate the disc may function as both a funerary object and a ceremonial alignment device. Previously concealed imagery appears beneath mineral deposits and only becomes visible under specific illumination angles. Relationship between reflected ring patterns and eclipse symbolism remains unresolved.
