UNC-OBJ-873
A hand-carved marine shell recovered from a sealed compartment containing only black sand and no identifying documentation. The shell has been deliberately shaped to resemble a human eye with unusual attention given to the pupil and surrounding detail. Examination has not identified the shell species or the carving's origin. The object was retained due to the absence of provenance and the unusual workmanship displayed despite its size. No active anomalous effects have been confirmed during handling or storage. Documentation photographs occasionally display minor inconsistencies in the appearance of the carved pupil when compared across viewing angles though no repeatable mechanism has been identified.
