SCA-SYS-193

The Lower Eastern Preservation Lift provides access between upper preservation levels and the deeper eastern foundations of the Archive. Operated through a chain-driven counterweight system the lift remains one of the oldest functioning pieces of infrastructure still in regular use. Several historical access routes connected to the lift were sealed following structural changes within the foundations though the primary network remains operational. The lift continues to support maintenance transport and preservation activities throughout the lower sectors while requiring regular inspection due to age and environmental exposure.
