ARC-OBJ-648
The Mourning Spirit Mirror is a Victorian funerary mirror recovered from a sealed sance chamber within the estate of a deceased spiritualist collector. The artifact displays extensive silver degradation eclipse-themed frame engravings and persistent reflective irregularities inconsistent with ordinary optical behavior. Recovery teams documented mourning cloths extinguished candle stands funeral portraits turned toward the wall and journal fragments referencing the reflection that arrives after the gaze. Controlled Archive examinations have repeatedly recorded delayed reflective responses under candlelit or low-light conditions during which reflected movement continues several seconds after physical motion ceases. Peripheral distortion depth inconsistencies and visual fixation effects have also been observed. Reproduction sketches of the frame ornamentation frequently differ despite originating from the same source. Recent examination confirmed delayed reflection behavior and coincided with unusual object displacement events involving associated mourning artifacts. The mirror remains one of the most extensively documented perceptual anomalies within the Archive collection.

DETAILS
Handling and Restrictions:
Reflective exposure restrictions enforced. Candlelit observation periods limited and prolonged viewing prohibited.

Keeper Notes:
Observation sessions require documentation by multiple staff and all examinations should conclude before perceptual fixation develops.
