UNC-OBJ-537
A large-scale painted observatory mural spanning the ceiling surrounding the archive's central telescope dome. The mural consists of numerous historical paint layers accumulated across centuries of restoration modification and astronomical revision. While portions depict recognizable stellar formations deeper layers contain undocumented constellations spiral alignment structures descending star motifs and symbolic astronomical geometries absent from known celestial records. During restoration work a concealed original section was uncovered beneath later paint applications. The hidden imagery depicts a silver-black doorway beneath descending stars accompanied by three figures: a woman a black bird and a pale-eyed companion animal. Beneath the image appears a partially obscured inscription reading Archivist. Material analysis suggests the concealed layer predates all visible observatory construction phases. Several restored star groupings appear visible only under specific lighting conditions and observers have reported an unusual sense of familiarity while conducting restoration activities. The mural may represent an early archive cosmological record rather than decorative astronomical artwork.

DETAILS
Handling and Restrictions:
No overpainting permitted. Restoration activities require full photographic documentation before intervention. Concealed layers must remain accessible for future examination.

Keeper Notes:
The mural may contain foundational archive historical records preserved through symbolic rather than written means. Continued restoration recommended under controlled observation conditions.
Observatory Ceiling Mural
Access Level:
Restricted Research
Period:
Late Summer
Recovery Location
Upper Observatory Ceiling and Central Telescope Dome.
Condition:
Stable with localized weathering and historical paint loss.
Notable Characteristics
Hidden imagery. Multi-century paint layering. Variable star visibility. Concealed doorway symbolism. Earliest known use of the title Archivist within archive infrastructure.
Clio Observation
Clio displayed no distress during mural exposure and remained unusually calm beneath the revealed imagery. She positioned herself directly beneath the painted companion figure for prolonged periods.
Muninn Observation
Muninn repeatedly occupied locations corresponding to the painted bird figure and deposited silver wire fragments near restoration areas prior to discovery of the concealed layer.

Research Notes:
Preliminary analysis suggests imagery may represent an early depiction of the Preservation Triad. Several mural symbols correspond to astronomical formations documented within Alignment Interval Records and observatory research archives. Further investigation required.
