SCA-LOC-412

Colossal mechanical infrastructure system located beneath the western furnace halls and believed to form one component of the Archive's core preservation network. The engine consists of interconnected pistons pressure regulators gear assemblies resonance chambers and alignment mechanisms extending beyond currently accessible sections of the lower foundations. Recent activation events revealed direct operational links to the Bell System Maritime Containment Vault Hidden Western Descent and Secondary Observatory Network. Illuminated indicator panels display active status reports and appear capable of recognizing authorized Archivist presence. Observations suggest the engine does not generate containment independently but regulates timing pressure resonance intervals and alignment conditions required for broader preservation processes occurring throughout the Archive. Mechanical design exceeds known historical engineering capabilities and incorporates recurring descending spiral architecture documented elsewhere within alignment-related infrastructure. Current evidence suggests the system entered a dormant state following the Catastrophe and has recently resumed operation.

DETAILS
Handling and Restrictions:

Access restricted to authorized Archivists. No modification or shutdown attempts permitted. Mechanical status changes require immediate documentation. Lower maintenance doors remain secured when not under observation.

Keeper Notes:

Infrastructure forms part of the Archive itself and cannot be removed or rehomed. Preservation consists of maintenance and monitoring rather than containment.

Primary Alignment Engine

Access Level:
Restricted
Period:
Pre-Archive
Recovery Location
Western Furnace Complex Beneath The Archive.
Condition:

Operational. Partial reactivation confirmed.

Notable Characteristics

Archive-wide resonance synchronization. Self-reporting status indicators. Bell integration. Presence recognition systems. Alignment sequencing capability. Ancient pressure regulation network.

Clio Observation

Clio refused entry beyond upper maintenance arches and displayed sustained vigilance toward active machinery.

Muninn Observation

Muninn reacted aggressively to status activation events and interrupted prolonged observation immediately prior to Descent Access notifications.

Research Notes:

Indicator messages reference Secondary Observatory Link and Maritime Containment systems. Operational behavior suggests the Archive functions as a coordinated preservation mechanism rather than a collection of isolated containment sites. Engine activity increased immediately following memory recovery events and restoration of western containment seals.
