UNC-OBJ-914
The Salt-Damp Linen Wrapping is a plain linen cloth used to contain the Salt-Worn Brass Key following its recovery. Despite storage within a dry cabinet environment the cloth has repeatedly been found damp with traces of saltwater while adjacent objects remain unaffected. The cabinet interior shows no evidence of leaks condensation or environmental moisture. Journals shelving and surrounding materials remain completely dry during each observation. The moisture carries a distinct seawater scent consistent with deep marine environments. Rewrapping the key temporarily reduces the phenomenon but has not prevented recurrence. No abnormal properties have been identified within the linen itself. Whether the effect originates from the cloth the key or an unknown external influence remains unresolved.
