The Salt-Worn Brass Key is a heavily tarnished brass key delivered directly to the Archive by Muninn during early spring following several days of absence. The object displays extensive salt exposure and corrosion inconsistent with most known Archive hardware. Its profile differs noticeably from active preservation locks and catalogue systems currently in use throughout the Archive. No matching mechanism has been identified. Upon recovery both Clio and Muninn displayed unusual sustained attention toward the object before avoiding further contact. The key was wrapped in cloth and placed within a study catalogue drawer pending examination. Its origin purpose and associated lock remain unknown. Despite its unremarkable size the object has prompted continued interest due to its recovery circumstances and the reactions it produced.
